C&C: Suicide Awareness

Sep 21, 2022, This event was focused on raising awareness of Suicide and Suicide ideation in society, and aimed to help end the stigma, expand suicide education and spread acceptance of mental illness throughout our communities. RAN engaged in conversations related to suicide awareness, suicide ideation (SI), and the semi-colon tattoo.

“A semicolon is used when an author could’ve chosen to end their sentence but chose not to. The author is you, and the sentence is your life.” It’s a simple concept; draw or tattoo the semicolon symbol somewhere visible on your body to represent and share personal strength to overcome internal struggle. This means anyone can raise awareness of suicide prevention, depression, and addiction and help stop mental health stigma. Many people have tattooed a semicolon on their wrist, ankle, or behind their ear to start the conversation about Mental Health Stigmad.
